HYDRA-SNIP
|
|
The
Hydra-Snip is our 12" series tree shear. The Hydra-Snip gets
most of its features from its big brother the Hydra-Clip.
With technological advancements in every aspect of life, why
not tree shearing. With state-of-the-art technology like
true flush-to-the-ground cutting, and extended tips for
larger than capacity cuts, the Hydra-Snip is the biggest
little tree shear in the world. Perfect for all types of
pasture reclamation and heavy trimming, the Hydra-Snip will
aid in all of your clearing needs. |

Hydra-Snip weighs in at
about 800lbs and is approximately 61 inches wide. See our
How to size your machine
page for size concerns. At only 22 inches tall and about 34 inches
deep its size will fool you. Hydra-Snip is designed to cut a 12 inch
tree in one snip and by design can cut trees much larger with
multiple cuts. |
|
|
|
|
Hydra-Snip is engineered
to be the strongest and longest lasting shear of its size on the
market. The main hinge pins are the life of a shear. Hydra-Snip has
extra strong 3 inch chrome polished hinge pins that have special
spiral cut grease relief's machined into the pins to ensure that a
uniform layer of grease penetrates around the pin and bushing every
time. |
|
|
|
|
2-1/2 inch solid steel
jaws make this machine exceptionally strong. The angles in which the
cylinders meet the jaws are dynamically engineered to distribute the
maximum amount of power to the cutting edges. |
|

|
Extended tip blades
designed to reach into fence lines and remove growth between the
wires as well as above the fence. Allows for complete fence cleanup
without removal of fence. |

Find out what the lifting capacity is of your
machine.
-
Add the tree shear weight to the weight of the
capacity trees
-
The Hydra-Snip weighs 800 lb. It has a capacity
of cutting a 12" tree in one clip. A 12" tree will be approximately
20' tall and will weigh approximately 800 lb. Add the weight of the
tree + the weight of the shear and that should be close to the
lifting capacity of the skid loader or tractor. (Example: a 800 lb
Shear + 800 lb. Tree = 1600 lb. Capacity
-
What is the hydraulic operating pressure of your
machine?
-
Our tree shears are designed to operate at 3000
PSI. If your machines PSI is lower it will still operate, but not as
efficient. The PSI cannot be under 2200 PSI. What that means is the
shear may not one cut as large a tree so you will have to make a
crease cut and then move the tree on in closer to the base of shear
and finish the cut. The leverage increases drastically closer to the
frame.
-
Tree Shears mounted on
front loaders of tractors should always order a tall bump bar to protect the
tractor. This will also allow the operator to know exactly where the shear
is, like a auto leveling rod on the loader. (Our shears cut so close to the
ground that you need to have them laying flat on the ground when you
activate them.)
